The Y Series Merlot is fermented using only wild yeast found in the vineyard and winery. The wine was fermented in both static and rotary fermenters with cool to warm ferment temperatures. This enabled us to maintain a fruit friendly, supple and youthful wine with classic Merlot flavours.
Medium crimson in colour with a purple hue. Strong notes of fresh, ripe figs, strawberries and boysenberries burst from the glass combined with an attractive cool mint lift. The palate is generous, round and succulent. Soft tannins glide over the mid palate which shows lovely synergy with a burst of fruit and hints of exotic spices. This is an expressive, fresh and vivacious Merlot.
Perfect with a slow cooked cassoulet or chickpea, garlic, spinach and red onion pasta.
