For this production, Winter is characterized by being soft and dry, without significant frost. April and May are cool months generally. Until the second weekend of July the summer is characterized by cool nights and not very high daytime temperatures, except from July 8 to 12 that temperatures were close to 40ºC and the hottest nights. Summer becomes a rather dry season, which slows down the cycle of the vineyard. The veraison is slow, beginning in early varieties, like Tempranillo, in the last days of July, but generally in the first week of August.
Under the classification Vinos de la Tierra, Dominio de Eguren is distinguished from the rest of the wineries by its rigorous selection of vineyards situated in fabulous settings in the best production areas of Spain, advanced in age (30-70 years old vineyards) and with limited yield. Selected yeast fementation occurred in temperature control between 28 and 30 degrees. 10 days of maceration took place during fermentation with 2 daily pumpovers. The wine was then aged for 6 months in deposit and 6 months in French and American Bordelaise oak barrels.
